Microcement applied straight over your existing tiles.
- • No demolition. Tiles stay where they are.
- • No skip-bin. No dust through the rest of the house.
- • 5 days, not 5 weeks. Live in the house while we work.
Stripping a bathroom back to the studs is where most of the cost, mess, and weeks of downtime come from. Microcement skips it: on a sound, properly assessed substrate we bond and trowel straight over your existing tiles — so you keep the demolition budget and the room is back in use far sooner. We confirm your tiles can take the finish at the site assessment, before you commit to anything.

One finish, used across the whole home.
Because it's trowelled on by hand rather than laid in sheets, microcement works on almost any sound surface — and runs unbroken from one to the next. A few of the spaces we finish most often:

-
Bathrooms & ensuites
Seamless, grout-free showers, walls, vanities, and floors — the calm, spa-style look without the tile grid.
-
Floors
Living areas, hallways, and kitchens in one continuous surface, laid straight over existing concrete or tiles.
-
Stairs
Treads and risers finished in one continuous run that flows straight off the adjoining floor, with a fine, underfoot-friendly texture.
-
Feature walls
Hand-trowelled texture for a fireplace surround, entry wall, or bedhead — depth and movement you can't get from paint.
-
Benchtops & joinery
The finish carried up onto benchtops and built-ins for one monolithic, stone-look surface.
-
Commercial & retail
Cafés, showrooms, and offices — applied over existing surfaces to keep fit-out downtime short.
What microcement actually is, in plain English.
Microcement is a hand-trowelled, cement-based finish applied in several thin coats — only 2–3 mm thick in total — over a properly prepared surface. It bonds to tiles, concrete, render, or plasterboard, and because it's laid by hand rather than in sheets or slabs, it forms one continuous, joint-free surface that can run unbroken from floor to wall to benchtop.
That seamless quality is why a microcement bathroom has become the go-to for the calm, spa-style, stone-look interior — no grout grid, no busy tile pattern, just one quiet monolithic surface. And because it can go over tiles, you get that look without gutting the room: we lay it straight onto sound, prepared tiled walls and floors.
What it isn't: microcement is a finish, not a structural fix, and it's not a one-day DIY. It's only ever as good as the surface beneath it — so every job starts with an honest substrate assessment. If your tiles or screed aren't a sound base, we'll tell you before you commit, not after.

-
Seamless surface
One continuous finish across floor, walls, and joinery — no grout lines, no transition strips, no visible joints.
-
Grout-free
Nothing for soap scum, mould, or staining to lodge in. Wipes down with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner.
-
Sealed & impermeable
Once sealed, the finished surface is non-porous and totally impermeable — ideal for showers, splashbacks, and wet rooms.
-
Hard-wearing
Abrasion resistance comparable to a top-grade timber floor. Built for daily residential use over 10+ years with light maintenance.
-
Fast install
Typical bathroom completes in 3–5 working days vs 4–6 weeks for a full demolition-and-retile rebuild.
-
Custom colour & finish
Full pigment palette, matte through polished finishes. Colour samples from the Lane Cove West showroom before you commit.
How we install microcement properly.
Most of the microcement failures you read about online come from skipped steps, not from the material itself. Here's exactly how we install it — the substrate-first process a Sydney wet area needs, and that any good installer should follow.
- 01
Substrate assessment
An on-site inspection of your existing tiles, screed, or sheeting — adhesion checks, a moisture read, and a level survey. You get an honest go / no-go call before you commit a cent.
- 02
Surface preparation + repair
We prepare the substrate for a lasting bond — treating cracks, levelling, and making good any movement or hollow spots flagged at the assessment. Microcement is only ever as good as the surface beneath it.
- 03
Primer + reinforcement mesh
A bonding primer matched to your substrate, then a fibreglass reinforcement mesh embedded in the first coat — the layer that manages hairline movement and keeps the finish intact.
- 04
Two to three hand-trowelled microcement coats
Multiple thin coats, hand-trowelled by a named, trade-trained Nextone installer, with a light sand between passes. This is where the depth, movement, and seamless surface come from.
- 05
Polyurethane sealer + handover
A polyurethane sealer system in your chosen sheen — matte, satin, or polished. We hand over the cure schedule, a care guide, and your written 5-year workmanship warranty before the final invoice.
Done right, by named installers.
A microcement bathroom is only as good as the prep and the hands that lay it. Every job follows this documented process and is finished by a named, trade-trained Nextone installer — backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty and a certificate of installation.

Touch the colours. See the finishes. Before you commit.
Microcement reads differently in person — the pigment, the sheen, and the soft trowel movement all shift with the light. A 20-minute visit to our Lane Cove West showroom settles the colour-and-finish decision in a way no screen render can. By appointment, and no sales pressure.
