PU Membrane flooring

PU Membrane

Flexible waterproofing membrane that bridges cracks and protects your exposed car parks, balconies, and podium decks from water ingress and traffic wear.

Your car park, podium deck, or balcony is constantly exposed to rain, vehicle movement, and thermal expansion. Any crack in the waterproofing lets water reach the structural concrete below, accelerating reinforcement corrosion and costly remediation.

PU (polyurethane) membrane is a flexible, spray-applied or roller-applied system that bridges hairline cracks up to 2 mm and moves with your structure through seasonal thermal cycles. Applied in multiple coats over prepared concrete, the membrane cures to a seamless, UV-stable, trafficable finish with anti-slip aggregate rated R10–R12.

Colour-coded wear coats let you monitor surface depth visually, so you can schedule maintenance before the membrane is compromised. We specify and install PU membrane systems for multi-level car parks, podium decks, balconies, ramps, and rooftop terraces.

Key Features

Crack-bridging capacity up to 2 mm dynamic movement
UV-stable topcoat rated for permanent outdoor exposure

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a PU membrane last on a car park?
A professionally applied PU membrane system typically provides 10 to 15 years of service on a car park deck before requiring a maintenance re-coat. Colour-coded wear layers allow you to visually monitor the remaining membrane depth and plan maintenance in advance.
Can PU membrane be applied over existing waterproofing?
In many cases, yes. If the existing membrane is well-bonded and structurally sound, a PU membrane system can be applied over the top after appropriate preparation. Where the existing system is failing or debonded, it should be removed before the new membrane is installed.
Is PU membrane trafficable?
Yes. PU membrane systems are designed to handle both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Anti-slip aggregate is incorporated into the wear coat to provide safe footing in wet conditions, with slip ratings from R10 to R12.
How does PU membrane handle building movement?
PU membrane remains flexible after curing and can bridge dynamic cracks up to 2 mm. This flexibility allows the membrane to accommodate thermal expansion, contraction, and structural movement without splitting or delaminating.
Can PU membrane be applied in wet weather?
The substrate must be dry at the time of application. Most PU membrane systems require a minimum of 24 hours of dry weather during and after application to achieve proper cure. Installation is planned around weather forecasts to ensure optimal bonding and performance.
