Terrazzo flooring

Terrazzo

Custom-blended marble, granite, and glass aggregates poured and polished on site to create a lifetime floor designed to your specification.

When your project demands a floor that functions as both a durable surface and a design centrepiece, in-situ terrazzo gives you complete control over colour, aggregate, and pattern. We pour custom blends of marble, granite, quartz, and recycled glass aggregates set in cementitious or epoxy resin binders, then diamond-grind and polish on site to your specified finish, from honed matte to high-gloss mirror.

Brass, aluminium, or zinc dividing strips define patterns, logos, wayfinding elements, and colour transitions with millimetre precision. Modern Venetian microterrazzo techniques allow installation at just 8–10 mm thick as a continuous slab using high-quality marble aggregates in a cement base, making terrazzo practical for both new builds and renovation projects where floor height is limited.

Terrazzo handles heavy foot traffic, resists staining, and improves with age. A re-polish every 10–15 years restores the original finish without material replacement. The material is UV resistant and suitable for both interior and exterior environments, with finish options ranging from glossy and satin to slip-resistant and hammered textures.

Increasingly specified for hotel lobbies, commercial foyers, retail flagships, heritage restorations, and prestige residential projects, terrazzo is a 50-year floor, not a surface you replace.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a terrazzo floor last?
Terrazzo is a 50-year floor when properly installed and maintained. A professional re-polish every 10 to 15 years restores the original finish without any material replacement. Many terrazzo floors installed decades ago are still in daily use.
Can terrazzo be installed over an existing floor?
Modern Venetian microterrazzo techniques allow installation at just 8 to 10 mm thick, making it practical for renovation projects where removing the existing floor is not feasible. The existing surface must be structurally sound and properly prepared.
Can terrazzo include logos and custom patterns?
Yes. Brass, aluminium, or zinc dividing strips are used to define any pattern, logo, wayfinding element, or colour transition with precision. These are laid before the terrazzo is poured and become a permanent part of the finished floor.
Is terrazzo suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. Terrazzo is UV resistant and suitable for both interior and exterior environments. Slip-resistant satin and hammered finish options provide safe footing in outdoor areas such as terraces, courtyards, and building entries.
What maintenance does terrazzo require?
Day-to-day maintenance is simple: dust mopping and periodic damp mopping with a neutral pH cleaner. The seamless surface has no grout lines to trap dirt. A professional re-polish every 10 to 15 years restores the shine without replacing any material.
